Loon Lodge on Leech Lake

I wanted to give you a quick update on what’s happening in the Walker, MN area and how we’re handling guests at Loon Lodge on Leech Lake (at least today- this may be out dated by the time you read it! Visit our Facebook Page for the latest updates).

  • Leech Lake ice out contest. In these uncertain times it’s nice to be able to continue traditions! For the last 17 years, the Pilot-Independent newspaper is holding its ice out contest- and you can participate! It’s free and you can enter from your home. Details are here– good luck!
  • Most restaurants are offering take out. Pretty much the same operations as you’ve already heard about with your local restaurants. Portage brewing is even offering curbside pickup!
  • What has changed with our procedures. To protect our housekeepers and guests, in addition to our normal cleaning and disinfecting, for the next 60 days we are implementing a minimum of 48+ hours between check-out/check-in.
  • If you have an upcoming reservation with arrival before May 14th. If you need to cancel due to COVID-19 concerns, we will issue you a full credit for 12 months so you can reschedule at your convenience.
  • We will consider new reservations between April 11th and May 14th if the following considerations are met….
    • Minimum of 48 hours after the last guest has checked out and the following guest checks in.
    • One family only
    • The stay is allowed under the current State of MN Peacetime Emergency guidelines

New reservations after May 14th. We do have summer availability (3+ nights) beginning in mid May. If you make a reservation between now and May 14th for late spring, summer or fall and need to cancel due to COVID-19 concerns, we will issue a full refund. Check availability here.
